January is one of the best months to visit El Nido — solidly in the dry season, with calm seas, reliable sun, and comfortable 30°C/24°C days cooled by sea breezes. Island-hopping runs daily and conditions are at their finest, so Tour A's lagoons and Tour C's hidden beaches are at their most accessible. Visibility for snorkeling and diving is good. The trade-off is crowds and price. The New Year period pushes hotels to peak rates and many sell out, so book well ahead. Even after the holiday, January stays busy with dry-season visitors. March is hot, dry, and reliably sunny — around 32°C/25°C with very little rain, marking the start of El Nido's hottest and busiest stretch through May. Conditions for island-hopping and diving are excellent, with calm, clear seas. The heat builds, so an early-boat start and plenty of water make long tour days more comfortable. Crowds are heavy and prices high, and if Holy Week (the movable Catholic holiday) falls in late March, domestic visitors surge — book well ahead and expect Tour A's Big Lagoon to be packed. Practical notes: UV peaks around now (index 11-12), so sunburn and heat are the main risks — reef-safe sunscreen, a rash guard, a hat, and shade are essential.
