June in Geneva is one of the sweet-spot months — averaging about 23°C/13°C with long daylight, warm comfortable days, and the lakefront at its liveliest, while avoiding the busiest peak of high summer. The Jet d'Eau runs full, lake cruises and the Bains des Pâquis swimming jetty are buzzing, and filets de perche are in season. It's perfect for the lakefront, outdoor dining, and the full range of day trips — Mont Blanc/Chamonix, Lausanne and the Lavaux, Annecy, and Montreux/Chillon all shine in good June weather. Crowds and prices are high but not yet at the July-August peak, and the weather is reliably good. Long evenings are ideal for lakeside dinners and a sunset by the fountain. Note: occasional summer thunderstorms can roll in, and warm days mean air conditioning is worth checking in older hotels.

July in Geneva is peak summer — averaging about 26°C/15°C, the sunniest, busiest month, with the lakefront at its height and heatwaves occasionally pushing past 30°C. The city is in full swing: the Jet d'Eau runs, the Bains des Pâquis and lake beaches are packed, cruises sail, and the Fêtes de Genève summer festival brings lakefront events. Nearby, the famous Montreux Jazz Festival runs in early July, an easy train trip away. Filets de perche and lakeside dining are at their best. It's ideal for swimming, boat trips, and long warm evenings, and all the day trips are at their summer best (Mont Blanc, Lausanne/Lavaux, Annecy, Montreux). The trade-offs are the largest crowds and highest prices of the year, plus the heat. Note: air conditioning isn't universal in older hotels, so check; book accommodation and popular activities well ahead.

August in Geneva stays warm and busy — averaging about 25°C/15°C, much like July, with peak crowds, lively lakefront life, and the chance of heatwaves and late-summer thunderstorms. The month opens with Swiss National Day (August 1) and fireworks over the lake.
