May is one of the best months — around 23°C/14°C (73°F/57°F) with little rain (about 25mm) and long, sunny days. The sea is cool (around 17°C) but swimmable for the hardy, and warming fast. The clubs are now in full swing with their weekly residencies, beach clubs and restaurants have reopened, and the island feels alive again — but without the peak-summer crush or the highest prices. It's a shoulder-season sweet spot. Warm days and pleasant evenings make for ideal sightseeing, beach time, and balmy nights, whether you're clubbing or not. Note: the sea is still on the cool side early in the month, and busy weekends (and a major club anniversary or two) can spike prices and crowds. Overall, excellent weather, full venues, and fair value.

June is many people's favourite month — around 27°C/18°C (81°F/64°F), very dry (about 15mm of rain), and sunny, with the sea finally warm enough (around 21°C) for comfortable swimming. The season is in full force: every club is open with its summer residencies, the beach clubs are buzzing, and the calas are warm and inviting — but it's a touch less frantic and pricey than the July-August peak. The long days mean late, balmy evenings. It hits the sweet spot of warm-enough sea, full nightlife, good weather, and not-quite-peak crowds — a great all-round month for both faces of the island. Note: it's now genuinely hot midday with strong UV, so use sun protection and seek shade at the (often shadeless) calas. Confirm your accommodation has air conditioning. Prices are high and rising toward July.

September is arguably the best month overall — around 28°C/19°C (82°F/66°F), with the sea still warm (about 25°C) and the worst of the heat and crowds easing. The clubs are still running their season (the big closing parties build through late September into October), and the beach clubs and calas are open and lovely — but the peak-August crush has gone, and the weather is balmy rather than punishing. It hits the sweet spot of warm sea, full nightlife, comfortable temperatures, and slightly thinner crowds. Long, warm evenings keep the island lively. Note: a little more rain returns (about 45mm), and it's still a popular, high-price month, so book ahead. But for the best balance of weather, swimmable sea, open venues, and atmosphere, September is hard to beat.
