January is Riyadh's coolest and most comfortable month, the heart of the high season. This is the ideal time for everything outdoors — the Edge of the World cliffs, Diriyah's At-Turaif district in the cool evening, and walking the old city without battling heat. The Riyadh Season entertainment program (running roughly October to March) is usually in full swing. Rain is rare and light (around 12mm across a few days), so plan for dry, sunny weather. Pack a light jacket for the evenings, sunglasses, and sunscreen for the strong midday sun. Because it's peak season, hotels are busier and pricier — book ahead. Modest dress still applies, and the short prayer-time closures continue through the day.

February stays in the comfortable winter window, with highs near 23°C and cool evenings around 11°C. It's one of the best months to visit before the heat builds from March onward. All the outdoor highlights remain pleasant — the Edge of the World, Diriyah, and old-city walking. Founding Day (February 22) marks the establishment of the first Saudi state in 1727 and brings national events and decorations around the city. Rain is minimal (around 12mm) and skies are mostly clear. Pack a light jacket for evenings, plus sun protection for the strengthening daytime sun. This is still high season, so expect busier sights and firmer hotel prices. Modest dress and prayer-time pauses apply as always.

November is one of the best months to visit, with highs around 28°C and cool, pleasant evenings near 14°C. The heat is gone and outdoor travel is comfortable again across the board. It's a touch wetter than midsummer (around 18mm) with the odd brief shower, but still predominantly sunny and dry. The Edge of the World, Diriyah evenings, and old-city walking are all at their best. The Riyadh Season entertainment program is typically in full swing, with the Boulevard zone, concerts, and events making the city lively after dark.
