October is one of the very best months to visit Santiago — warm, sunny spring days (highs near 22°C/72°F), little rain, no smog, and the Andes standing out crisp and snow-capped behind the city. Parks and the wine valleys are green and blooming. It's ideal for the full program: Cerro San Cristóbal and Sky Costanera have their clearest views, the Centro and Lastarria are comfortable on foot all day, and the Cajón del Maipo hiking season reopens as the snow recedes from the lower canyon. Wine country is lush and pleasant, the coast warms up, and crowds and prices sit between the Dieciocho spike and the summer peak — strong shoulder-season value with excellent weather. Note: the high-altitude sun is already strong (UV high by midday), so sunglasses and SPF matter even at mild temperatures. This is a sweet-spot month rivaling March-April for the best balance of weather, scenery, and value.

November is warm, dry, and clear — late spring sliding toward summer, with highs near 26°C/79°F, cool nights around 11°C/52°F, and the cleanest of air giving sharp, snow-streaked Andes views behind the city. It's another excellent all-round month: comfortable for the full city program before the deep summer heat, ideal for Cajón del Maipo hiking and Andes day trips, and lovely in the lush green wine valleys. Sky Costanera and Cerro San Cristóbal are at their most rewarding with the clear skies. Crowds and prices are reasonable — past the Dieciocho spike and before the December-February peak — making it a strong shoulder choice with near-perfect weather. Note: the high-altitude sun is intense (UV very high to extreme by midday), so sun protection is essential even though temperatures are pleasant. November rivals October, March, and April as a top time to visit.

March is one of Santiago's best months — the fierce summer heat softens into warm, dry, golden autumn days (highs near 27°C/81°F) with cool, crisp nights. The city returns to its normal rhythm as holidays end, and crowds and prices ease from the summer peak. The highlight is the wine harvest — vendimia season. Maipo, Casablanca, and the Colchagua Valley further south hold harvest festivals (fiestas de la vendimia) with grape-treading, food, and tastings. It's a wonderful, atmospheric time for a wine-country day trip. The weather is ideal for the full city program — Cerro San Cristóbal, Sky Costanera, walking the Centro and Lastarria — without the midday intensity of January and February. Air quality is still good before the winter smog sets in. Note: it's a genuine shoulder-season sweet spot — comfortable temperatures, harvest energy in the valleys, and better value than the summer peak. A light layer handles the growing day-night swing.
