3. 18:00 Sunset dinner on the waterfront 2-3h

   Land and walk with a park ranger among wild Komodo dragons — the world's largest lizard, up to 3m. The ranger carries a forked stick, sets the distance and leads the group. Rinca often has higher sighting rates; Komodo is the namesake island. This is genuinely wild apex-predator territory, not a zoo.

   Cost: Included in park fee; tip ranger TIP: Stay with the ranger and the group, keep your distance, and don't crouch low for photos. Tell the ranger about any open wound — dragons track blood.
3. 12:00 Pink Beach (Pantai Merah) + lunch onboard 2h

   Anchor at one of the region's rare pink-sand beaches, coloured by red foraminifera mixing into the white sand. Snorkel the reef just off the beach over lunch cooked onboard. The sand looks pinkest when wet near the waterline.

4. 15:00 Snorkel Manta Point 1-2h

   Sail to a manta ray cleaning station and snorkel with giant mantas (wingspans up to several metres) gliding through. Sightings aren't guaranteed — it's wild marine wildlife — but this is one of the park's signature experiences.

5. 18:00 Anchor overnight near Padar Island Evening

   The boat anchors near Padar so you're in position for the dawn hike tomorrow. Dinner is served onboard under the stars — the reason a liveaboard beats a day boat.

   Cost: Included TIP: Set an early alarm for the Padar sunrise climb. Charge your camera and pack a head torch tonight.

   Cost: Included TIP: Head torch and water shoes/trainers essential. Start before first light to be at the top for sunrise. It gets hot fast once the sun is up — bring water.
2. 09:00 Kanawa or Kelor Island snorkel stop 2h

   On the way back, anchor at a small island like Kanawa or Kelor for clear-water snorkelling and white-sand beaches. A relaxed finish before the longer sail back to Labuan Bajo.

   Cost: Included TIP: Kelor has a short steep hill for a viewpoint if you want one more climb. Reapply reef-safe sunscreen — the midday sun is intense.
3. 13:00 Sail back to Labuan Bajo + depart 2-3h sailing

   Return to the harbour by early-to-mid afternoon. Time a late-afternoon or evening flight out, or add a night in town if your flight is the next day. Tip the crew before you disembark.

   Cost: Crew tip ~IDR 100,000-200,000 pp per day (guideline) TIP: Build buffer time before your flight — sailing times shift with sea conditions. Don't book a tight same-day connection out of Bali.
